Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To take into consideration mush more the know-how and the rule of a designing operation by means of human power regarding an automatic layout method wherein automatic arrangement and routing of cells are performed and cells are generated automatically in a CAD operation. CONSTITUTION:As shown in (A), interconnections which are shown by thick lines are weighted more than interconnection which are shown by thin lines, and an automatic arrangement and routing operation is executed so as to achive a target that the total sum of products of their weighting multiplied by their total length becomes minimum. Thereby, a layout as shown in (B) is obtained, the total length of the interconnections is shortened and, at the same time, the wiring length of a critical path is shortened.
