Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To achieve guiding function for a weight in the sufficiently linear direction by providing a thrust generation means for giving thrust to the weight in the horizontal direction, a means for giving restoring force to the weight, and a means for guiding the horizontal motion. CONSTITUTION:A weight 11 is freely moved on a horizontal line in a vibration control device used for skyscraper and so on. A thrust generation means for giving thrust to the weight 11 in the horizontal direction, and a means for giving the weight 11 restoring force, are provided. Horizontal movement of the weight 11 is guided by a guide shaft 16. The thrust generation means is a ball screw and a male screw 21 screwed in the ball screw, or a hydraulic cylinder, while the means for giving restoring force to the weight 11 is a spring 19. Since no pendulum is utilized for the vibration of the weight 11, the size of the device can be reduced. Since the vibration of the weight 11 is in a fixed linear direction, performance of the vibration control device is stabilized.
