Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To form a mark corresponding to the pulse width of a pulse signal to be recorded on an optical disk, and to improve an MTF by driving the laser generator of a pickup corresponding to the pulse width of the pulse signal. CONSTITUTION:An EFM modulated data signal is outputted from a data generating source 1, and data-converted by an NRZI conversion circuit 2. The converted data signal is supplied through a delay circuit 3 to gate circuits 7-9. At the same time, it is supplied to a high level section counting circuit 4, and a high level section is counted. Then, a high level signal is supplied from any one among a pulse width amplifier circuit 10, a gate circuit 8, and a pulse dividing circuit 12 to a laser driving circuit 11 by the pulse width, so that a laser generator 13 of the pickup can be driven, and the optical disk can be irradiated with a laser beam. Thus, the marks having almost the same mark width can be prepared on the disk regardless of the mark length, and the MTF can be improved.
