Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a VTR in which a good picture from simultaneous reproduction is obtained even at the rise of a tape speed from a stopped state by scanning a reproducing magnetic head always chasing after a recording only magnetic head, differently from a track locus after a format, in the case of simultaneous reproduction after the recording only magnetic head by means of the reproducing magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:In a simultaneous reproduction mode in which reproduction is performed immediately after signals are recorded on a tape 1 by means of the recording magnetic heads 30, 31, the driving of electromechanical conversion elements 5, 6 are stopped with a switch 41. Thus, without moving reproducing magnetic heads 7, 8, scanning is performed immediately after the recording heads 30, 31 by the reproducing magnetic heads 7, 8.
