PURPOSE:To improve the print quality at the time of the enlargement or reduction of composite characters by storing an external character in the form of position information, size, etc., of characters to be put together when the external character is composed of plural standard characters and registered. CONSTITUTION:This document processor is equipped with a character generator 1, a display device 3 which displays display data stored in a display memory 2, and a CPU 4 and when the CPU 4 registers a pattern, generated by altering the display data stored in the display memory 2 in the character generator 1 as a new character pattern, the new character pattern is registered according to the character code, position information in a rectangle as the display or print range of the character, and information on the size of the character.
