SYSTEM FOR INTRODUCING FUNCTION USING PICTURE SIGN

PURPOSE:To improve the operability and to correspond to a large-scale computer system flexibly by selecting the required picture sign out from the ones displayed on a display and introducing the required function in the computer system. CONSTITUTION:A user of the computer system selects the combined picture signs from a group of picture signs (icons) displayed on the display using an input part 1 consisting of a display and a mouse. A control part 6 accesses to function data holding parts 3a, 3b, and 3c holding selected each picture sign function. The function data of the accessed picture sign is sent to a function decision part 4 deciding the function. As the result of the decision, 'document preparing function' of an application part 5 is called. Thus, a new function is introduced from the combination of picture signs, many functions can be expressed with relatively small number of picture signs and the more understanding of the function by the user improves the operability.
