Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To decrease the quantity of data requiring transmission/reception by using a simplified code instructing drawing of a picture component such as a graphic so as to transmit/receive the data between the picture edit device and a picture display device. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 3 edits a code inputted from a mouse, writes its code string to a floppy disk of a floppy disk device 8 and writes a picture corresponding to a code to the picture memory 5. The memory 4 stores the program and data for the setting the operation of the CPU 3 and acts like a work area. Each picture element value of the display picture is recorded in the picture memory 5 and a video signal outputted from the memory 5 is displayed on a CRT monitor 6.
