Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To avoid local output increase and ensure a thermal margin without any increase of a ratio of natural uranium in MOX fuel by designing it so that the outer diameter of an MOX fuel pellet may be smaller than that of a normal uranium fuel pellet in regard to plutonium thermal utilization. CONSTITUTION:After the outer diameter of an MOX fuel rod 2 is 70% smaller than that of an uranium fuel rod 3 and an output share of both is approximately equal to another, the MOX fuel rods are arranged in the form of a lattice. The output thereof is constrained and a thermal margin can be ensured by making the outer diameter of the MOX fuel rod slender.
