DISK CLAMPING MECHANISM FOR CARTRIDGE

PURPOSE:To make a clamp not to be easily released by external force and to eliminate unsteadiness of a disk in a case by providing an armature clamping member and a clamp releasing lever in an upper case. CONSTITUTION:The armature clamping member and the releasing lever 7 are provided in the upper case 2. Under the state of disk cartridge which is not set on a driving device, a clamp arm 8 is situated on a clamp pin 6 by compression force of a compression spring 9, so that the magnetic disk 4 and an armature assembly 3 are pressed down to time side of the lower case 1. Then, when the cartridge is set on the driving device, the releasing lever 7 is abutted against a releasing stopper on the side of the device, and the clamp arm 8 is oscillated and detached from the clamp pin 6, so that the disk clamp 5 is released. Thus, since the releasing lever 7 is housed in the case, the clamp is never released by mistake during the handling time, and the disk is never unsteady either.
