Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a smooth coated wire free from the defects of a coated layer and the residue of flux though it is a hot-dip coating method using organic acid flux having low activity. CONSTITUTION:A copper wire 1 to be coated delivered from a delivery reel 2 is introduced into an electrolytic degreasing tank 3 before the coating of flux. This electrolytic degreasing tank 3 has been filled with an alkali degreasing soln. 14 such as sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, and electrolytic degreasing is executed with the copper wire 1 to be coated as the cathode. At this time, the removal of the oxidized film of copper is also executed by hydrogen generated by the electrolysis. The copper wire 1 to be coated is cleaned in a washing tank 7 and is introduced into a flux tank 8 filled with organic acid flux 9. The surplus flux 9 is wiped off by a wiper 10, and after that, it is introduced into a hot-dip coating bath 11, is coated with a hot-dip coating metal 12 and is introduced out.
