POSITION REGISTRATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To reduce a position registration traffic by allowing a moving terminal equipment to register the position when each portable terminal equipment is unloaded from a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:When plural portable terminal equipments 109-112 move together with a mobile terminal equipment 108, each portable terminal equipment registers it to a database 115 that the portable terminal equipment relates to the mobile terminal equipment, and when the portable terminal equipment and the mobile terminal equipment reach a new radio zone, only the mobile terminal equipment makes position registration to the database 115. In this case, the mobile terminal equipment releases the relation to the portable terminal equipments, sends as required a signal for position registration to the portable terminal equipments for their position registration to the new radio zone and also sends a signal for releasing the relation and number of the radio zone into which the portable terminal equipments move to the database 115. When the mobile terminal equipment recognize it that it reaches a terminal station, the mobile terminal equipment releases the position registration of the portable terminal equipments to itself being a train and makes position registration to a radio base station of a new station on behalf of the portable terminal equipments to reduce the occurrence of burst position registration traffic when the portable terminal equipments are unloaded from the train entirely.
