PURPOSE:To make it possible to correctly discriminate each piece of cores by arranging a core receiving instrument of an automatic core separation mechanism confronting the top edge of an automatic core supplying mechanism and by providing a core detection part of a core discriminator at the position where the core receiving instrument receives a core. CONSTITUTION:On the top edge of a core arrangement guide slit 8, a core detection part 14 of a core discriminator 13 is arranged and discriminates the number of a core 5 by electrically detecting the top core 5 out of each core 5 arranged with the core guide slit 8 with the core detection part 14. Additionally, on the top edge of the core arrangement guide slit 8, a core receiving instrument 18 of a dividing separation type automatic core separation mechanism 17 stands by, a core receiving groove 19 to fit only a piece of core 5 is provided, and the core detection part 14 of the core discriminator 13 is provided so that the detection of only core 5 coming into inside of the core receiving groove 19 can be performed on the top edge of the core guide slit 8. It is thus possible to correctly discriminate each piece of the cores 5.
