Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide a puffer type gas-blast circuit-breaker capable of further enchancing the pressure of a puffer chamber without increasing the load added to an operation mechanism nor reducing the insulating performance. CONSTITUTION:A puffer chamber formed of a puffer cylinder 5 and a buffer piston 6 and receiving an arch-extinguishing gas has a resistance 10. The resistance 10 is inserted to a cable way formed of a fixed arch contact 1 and a movable arc contact 3 which are opened and broken later than the opening and breaking of the puffer cylinder 5 from a fixed main contact 11, and heated by the current running in the cable way, whereby the arch-extin-gushing gas in the puffer chamber 12 is heated to raise the gas pressure.
