PROGRAM SEARCHING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To discover easily and in a short time program searching, difference in format and recorded/unrecorded part by controlling a motor by means of whether or not an extracted discriminating carrier exists, stopping the traveling of a tape, displaying these discoveries and outputting sound. CONSTITUTION:After amplifying with a head amplifier 2 video and FM sound signals outputted by a magnetic head 1, only 700kHz for outputting FM sound is extracted through a filter 3, and sound signal output is taken out. Simultaneously, the presence of the carrier is discriminated by a discriminating circuit 4, a motor control circuit 6 is commanded by a system control circuit 5, and the traveling of the tape is stopped. Concurrently, a character display 9 is performed, sound is outputted from a speaker 8 by means of a sound output circuit 7, and the program searching, discrimination of the tape having a different format, discrimination of the recorded/unrecorded part of the tape, etc., are detected. Consequently these matters are discovered easily and in a short time.
