Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To avoid a resistance value change, heighten welding strength and welding reliability by preventing oxidation of a lead in a detection element for a flowmeter, improve further strength of the lead in itself, and reduce cost of the element profitably. CONSTITUTION:A detection element for a flowmeter is formed of a bobbin 12 as a ceramic base body, a resistance thin film 18 arranged on the bobbin 12 and adhesive 16, and the resistance thin film 18 is adhered/fixed around the bobbin 12 by means of the adhesive 16, and the detection element for the flowmeter contains also a lead 14 to be continued electrically to the resistance thin film 18, and the whole body is coated with a protective coating layer 20. The lead 14 is a clad wire constituted in such a way that a platinum coating layer 24 having thickness of 3-9mum is formed on the outer surface of a conductor 22 consisting of a construction material having heat conductivity lower than platinum.
