Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To reduce a change in melt viscosity and to stably obtain a light- colored extrudate by adjusting the water content of a polyarylene sulfide composition to a specific range and extruding said composition in a molten state at specific temp. CONSTITUTION:The proper water content of a polyarylene sulfide composition is 0.1-1.5wt.% and, when the water content is too little, effect is low and, when the water content is too much, a foaming phenomenon is generated. In order to adjust the water content of the composition, a method of uniformly blending a definite amount of water with the composition by a Henschel mixer is convenient. As an extruder, either one of a vent type one and a non-vent type one may be used. It is pref. that polyarylene sulfuide has a high m.p. and the melt extrusion temp. thereof is 290-370 deg.C. This method is especially effective for the preparation of a pellet due to extrusion.
