Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a ball point pen ink having a viscosity within a specified range, by blending a dye, water, a water-soluble org. solvent, a viscosity modifier and finely divided high-molecular spherical particles. CONSTITUTION:A ball point pen ink having a viscosity of 50-2,000cP at 25 deg.C is obtd. by blending 0.1-30wt% (based on the entire quantity of ink) coloring material (e.g. a pigment or dye soluble or dispersible in an ar. solvent), water as principal component, a watler-soluble org. solvent (e.g. ethylene glycol), a viscosity modifier (e.g. polyvinyl alcohol) and 0.05-10wt% (based on the entire quantity of ink) finely divided high-molecular spherical particles having a particle size of 0.05-6mu. The ink has excellent characteristics as water-based ball point pen ink as well as oil-based ball point pen ink.
