METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PACKING ANNULAR MATTER

PURPOSE:To obtain a product with good inner and outer peripheral sealing by a method wherein an annular matter, supported at its central part, is applied with an outer peripheral sealing, then heated preparatorily for a preparatory contraction of packing material at a part in contact with an outer peripheral part of a lower surface, and finally applied with an inner peripheral sealing with the annular matter supported at a peripheral part of the lower surface. CONSTITUTION:An annual matter which is a package 1 to be packed is held substantially horizontally with its central part supported, and sealed on an outer peripheral surface by winding packing material 2 to form a cylinder. Next, at least an outer peripheral part of a lower surface of the package 1 which is sealed on the outer peripheral surface is heated for a preparatory contraction. Then the package 1, supported at the outer peripheral part of the lower surface in a substantially horizontal direction, is heated wholly, whereby both opening ends of the packing material 2 are heat contracted so as to cover both upper and lower surfaces. Finally, the packing material 2 covering the upper and lower surfaces of the package 1 is wound into the package 1, and at the same time, an inner peripheral sealing is applied to the package 1 to seal along an inner peripheral surface.
