POWDER CARRYING MEMBER

PURPOSE:To uniformly carry powder with a uniform rugged surface and to uniformly transport the powder so as to use the powder for development by forming the ruggedness formed by etching of a photoresist system on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A developing roller 1 is formed with the ruggedness 41 on the surface of a developer carrying region utilized for development to enhance the functions to carry and transport the developer. The regions where the developer is not carried provided on both sides of the developer carrying region are formed as the smooth surfaces to suppress the functions to carry and transport the developer as far as possible so as to be advantagenous for prevention of the lateral leakage of the developer. This ruggedness 41 is formed by the etching of the photoresist system. Circular recessed parts 41a are formed at a uniform size and pitch by etching, by which the surface of the developer carrying region is formed as the ruggedness 41 fine as a whole. The rugged parts 41a are arranged zigzag so as to obviate the generation of unequal transportation in the direction perpendicular to the transporting direction of the developer. The unequal development and the consequent unequal image densities are eliminated in this way.
