ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE ORIGINAL PLATE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To allow the execution of a coating operation in a stable state and to obtain the electrophotographic planographic printing original plate having high quality by applying a photoconductive layer coating liquid which is respectively specific in the average particle size and solid content concn. of a photoconductor by a curtain coating device. CONSTITUTION:The photoconductive material of the electrophotograph planographic printing original plate provided with the photoconductive layer contg. the photoconductive material is the inorg. semiconductor having 0.1 to 20mum average volumetric size and the coating liquid of the photoconductive layer is an org. solvent dispersion having 20 to 60wt.% solid content concn. This photoconductive layer is formed by applying the above-mentioned coating liquid by using the curtain coating device. The curtain coating device refers to a device which forms a curtain-like liquid film by discharging the liquid from the narrow slit 2 of a coater head 1 and applies this liquid film on a web 5 continuously traveling across this liquid film. The liquid flows down directly from the slit 2 of the coater head 1 and forms the curtain film 4, which is then applied on the web 5.
