Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve the welding work efficiency to a work. CONSTITUTION:In the clamp device for a work for holding the work at the time of executing spot welding to plural parts by a welding means with respect to the work, this clamp device for a work is constituted by providing reference gages 11, 16 for holding continuously the work extending from the start to the end of a welding work to the work W on a base 10, providing main gages 12, 14 for holding the work only for a prescribed time to the work on the base so as to be freely movable vertically, and placing sub-gages 13, 15 for forming pairs with the main gages, and holding same work at the time when the main gages concerned are not holding the work, adjacently to the main gages 12, 14. In one stage, the welding work can be executed to many parts, therefore, the number of stages in an assembly line of a car body can be decreased.
