MANUFACTURE OF BRUSH

PURPOSE:To provide a device with which bristles are stood upright and then are planted with their opposite ends being made to be flush with each other. CONSTITUTION:A bundle of bristles 38 is pushed into a cut-out 5 formed in the outer edge part of a blade 3 on a catching bar 1, and then the catching bar 1 is turned in the direction of the arrow C, and the bundle of bristles 38 is transferred to a beating tool 6 having dents 37 by which the bundle of bristles densely assembled is loosened so that they can vertically be moved relative to each other. A top plate 25 arranged above the beating tool is lowered to make the top ends of the bristles flush with each other, and then a push-in needle is advanced within the beating tool so as to bifold bristles at their precise center point. Next, the front end of the beating tool is pressed against to a brush body, and the needle is further advanced to plant the bristles into bristle slots formed in the brush body.
