SEMICONDUCTOR LIGHT-SOURCE MODULE

PURPOSE:To improve bad alignment in aligning and fixing an optical fiber to a semiconductor light source by laser welding. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor light-source module consists of a semiconductor light source 12, an optical fiber 5, a pipe 4 and a flange 3. The semiconductor light source 12 consists of light-source package 1 and a housing 2. The pipe 4 is fitted on the circumference of the optical fiber 5 with the pipe's back end flush with one end of the optical fiber 5 and with the pipe's axis in coaxial state with the optical fiber's. The flange 3 is fitted on the circumference of the back end of the pipe 4 with the flange's axis in coaxial state with the pipe's. The flange 3 is laser-welded to the circumference of the pipe 4 simultaneously at a plurality of points P1, P2... or P'1 P'2,... at an equal angular interval or symmetrical to the axial center. The back end edge of the circumference of the flange 3 is laser-welded to the front end face of the housing 2 simultaneously at a plurality of points P'3, P'3,... at an equal angular interval or symmertrical to the axial center as well.
