DISPLAY DEVICE FOR PROGRAM EXECUTING POSITION INFORMATION

PURPOSE:To enable a program producer to display an accurate executing position with no consciousness by decoding an executing position information read instruction and translating the instruction into an object program which returns the name and the row number of a source program. CONSTITUTION:A source program file 1 stores a source program which contains a read instruction for information on a program executing position. Then the source program is taken out of the file 1, and a translation mechanism 2 translates the read instruction into such an instruction that returns the name and the row number of the source program. Thus an object program is produced and stored in an object program file 3. Then a message is displayed on a display device included in an execution mechanism 4 for execution of the object program produced by the mechanism 2 and stored in the file 3. Thus it is possible to confirm the specific message display processing of the source program where each message is displayed based on the displayed name and row number of the source program.
