Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a coating composition having good abrasion resistance, thickly applicable property and crack resistance by blending specific organosilane hydrolyzates, with a dispersion of a metal oxide and a methylol group-containing compound produced by addition of formaldehyde at a specified constitutional ratio. CONSTITUTION:The coating composition is obtained by blending (A) a hydrolyzate or a partially hydrolyzed product, etc., of an organofunctional silane of the formula (R1 is methyl, vinyl, trifluoropropyl, epoxy-containing organic group or methacyloyloxypropyl; R2 is 1-3C alkyl) with (B) a dispersion of water, alcohols or the other organic solvent of a metal oxide (e.g. titanium oxide), (C) a monomer, oligomer, polymer having a methylol group formed by addition of formaldehyde, formaldehyde, etc., in a weight ratio of the component A/the component B of (30/70) to (90/70) and the component C/the component (A+B) of 0.1-6.0/100 to provide the objective coating composition having good abrasion resistance, thickly applicable property and crack resistance.
