PURPOSE:To provide a filter for dust collectors and manufacturing method of the filter which has both satisfactorily low ventilation pressure loss and high dust collecting efficiency and at the same time has high mechanical strength and is thin enough to enable a compact design. CONSTITUTION:A porous surfacial layer 2 consisting of a whisker is formed on both sides of a filter main body 1 of a porous sintered body prepared by molding and sintering a synthetic resin powder to give a filter for dust collectors. After a suspension of a whisker and an adhesive is sprayed to the prescribed cavity surfaces of dies to form a coating layer with the set thickness, molding is carried out to fill the cavity with the synthetic resin powder and heating is carried out to form the filter for dust collectors wherein the filter is composed of a filter main body of a porous sintered body prepared by sintering the synthetic resin powder and porous surface layers consisting of the whisker and integrally formed on the necessary part of the filter main body.
