PURPOSE:To reduce the expense for a transmission by automatically transmitting an original which is unnecessary to be transmitted urgently in the time zone when communication charge is inexpensive by preliminarily set by a user. CONSTITUTION:A user sets an original in which communication time limit information is entered to a photoelectric conversion part 5, and a control means 3 transmits instructions to analyze the image of an image storage means 6 and start the detection of a transmission destination number and transmission time limit to a character recognition means 12. The character recognition means 12 analyzes the image of the image storage means 6, transmits it to the control means 3 and transmits the selection instruction of the transmission date and hour when the communication charge becomes the most inexpensive to a communication date and hour selection means 9, and the transmission date and hour are determined. Further, when a timer means 10 reaches the time, the control means 3 transmits the number of an opposite destination to be transmitted to an autodial means 11. The autodial means 11 transmits a dial number via a communication part 2 and connects a line with the opposite destination. Subsequently, the image is taken out from the image storage means 6, it is transmitted to the opposite destination via the communication part 2 and a public line, discount charge is stored, and a post-processing is terminated.
