PURPOSE:To easily identify whether information peculiar to a card is valid or invalid by devising the method for writing/reading information while simplifying an information writing/reading mechanism part or reducing the cost of the card. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a card positioning means 11 to specify the slide state of a card 15, two or more detecting means PS1 and PS2 to detect plural marks Bn provided on the card 15, data decoding means 12 to decode written data Dn peculiar to the card 15 based on detection signals SP1 and SP2 outputted from the detecting means PS1 and PS2, printing means 13 to print data in a printing area 15B of the card 15, control means 14 to control the inputs/outputs of the data decoding means 12 and the printing means 13, and the printing means 13 prints the marks Mb composed of a material to absorb infrared rays at least.
