PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and to perform smooth switching of a drive power by a method wherein a planetary gear part and a planetary roller part are rotated by means of the drive force of a solar rotary member, the planetary gear part is engaged with a rack for a feed, the planetary roller with an endless return rack, and a conveying table is reciprocated. CONSTITUTION:When a sun gear 9 is rotated in a direction A, a planetary gear part 10C is rotated in a direction B, and through engagement of the planetary gear part 10C with a rack 6 for a feed, the rack 6 for a feed is linearly moved. Thus, a document table is linearly moved in a direction F through an endless rack 8. The planetary gear part 10C is released from engagement with the feed rack 6 at the end of the semicircular part 5a of the endless rack 8 and movement is stopped. Thereafter, the semicircular part 5a is nipped between a planetary roller part 10b and a hold roller 40, and performs return operation in a direction R through rotation in a direction B of the planetary roller part 10b.
