Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To roll a metallic strip of a cold rolled stainless steel sheet or the like of which a fine surface is required at high efficiency by using a tandem mill for common steel. CONSTITUTION:A device 13 for inserting a guard sheet is arranged on the outlet side of the tandem mill 11 in which plural rolling mills 111 for common steel of not more than 6 stages are disposed, the strip is coiled while interposing the guard sheet between coil layers. The generation of surface flaw by rubbing the coil and strip each other at the time of coiling is prevented with the guard sheet and the strip is rolled at high speed without deteriorating gloss.
