PURPOSE:To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of changing the length of a hose, not requiring a heavy component such as a motor to be dragged around, and capable of being easily cleaned. CONSTITUTION:A hose winding device 5 is provided on the main body 1 of a vacuum cleaner, the length of a hose 7 cane freely be changed at the time of cleaning, a dust collecting chamber 12 is arranged on the suction port side of the hose 7, no dust is required to pass through the hose 7, and the hose 7 can be made thin in diameter. The length of the hose 7 is changed as required for cleaning, and a motor 4 and a cord reel are not required to be dragged. The hose 7 is automatically wound after use.
