Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make it possible to place a deoxidizer easily and surely and give full play to its ability by providing a layer containing a deoxidizer on the inner side of a cap functioning as a hermetic sealing stopper for a vessel and by exposing the cap to an atmosphere of high temperature and high humidity immediately before the cap is set on the vessel. CONSTITUTION:A hermetic sealing stopper 1 for a vessel is completed by forming coatings 5, 6 containing a deoxidizer on the inner side of a cap 2 or by providing a liner 10 containing the deoxidizer. To set this stopper 1 hermetically on the mouth 4 of the vessel 3 after its filling, the stopper 1 is subjected to heat treatment being exposed to a condition of high temperature and high humidity. Immediately after this treatment, the cap is set on the mouth 4 of the vessel 3 in a manner of hermetic sealing at the mouth 4. Following this capping, the oxygen contained in the head space 13 above the liquid level 12 of the contents 11 in the vessel 3 is absorbed by the deoxidizer inside the cap 2 through their reaction. As a result, the oxidation of the contents 11 is reduced and the discoloration and deterioration in quality of the contents 11, which are due to oxidation, are avoided.
