TIGHTLY LIDDED RECEPTACLE

PURPOSE:To achieve in a receptacle consisting of a main body and a lid good tightness and ease in taking off the lid by forming a smaller groove in the bottom of a substantially U-shaped groove formed in the lid, a fastening protrusion on the outer side wall of the larger groove, and a ridge for tight contact on the inner side wall of the larger groove. CONSTITUTION:This receptacle is a tightly lidded receptacle consisting of a main body 2 and a lid 1, the main body 2 having an inversely L-shaped, in a manner calyxlike projection 22 which projects outward from a little lower position under the edge 21 at the open end and the lid 1 having a substantially U-shaped groove 11 which opens downward at the fringe. In the bottom of the substantially U-shaped groove 11 a smaller groove 111 which fits over the edge 21 at the open end of the main body 2 is formed. On the outer side wall of the larger groove 11 a fastening ridge 12 to be fitted over the lower edge of the calyxlike projection 22 on the main body 2 for fastening is provided. Furthermore, on the inner side wall of the larger groove 11 a ridge 14 which comes in tight contact with the inner wall of the main body 2 is formed. When the lid 1 is in place, the receptacle is in tight closure with the ridge 14 on the lid 1 in tight contact with the inner wall at the edge 21 at the open end of the main body 2 so that the edge 21 at the open end is kept from being wetted with liquid contents.
