Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide the present polyester film excellent in slip properties, shaving resistance and scratch resistance and especially useful as the base film of a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A layer composed of polyester containing 0.05-1.5wt.% of inert particles A with Mohs hardness of 6 or more and a mean particle size dA of 0.02-0.3mum and O 001-1wt.% of inert particles B with Mohs hardness of below 3 and a mean particle size dB of 0.2-1.5mum larger than the mean particle size dA and having a thickness 0.2-0.5 times the mean particle size dB of the inert particles B is laminated on at least the single surface of a biaxially oriented polyester film.
