RECORDING DEVICE AND REPRODUCING DEVICE FOR DIGITAL AUDIO SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To provide the digital recording device and reproducing device which can record and edit independently audio signals of two channels, respectively. CONSTITUTION:In a recording device 10, digital audio data L(i), R(i) of two channels are converted so that the data L(i), R(i) in the same unit period become data DA, DB of two channels in series, respectively, in two continuous unit periods. The converted data DA, DB are encoded to a signal SAB of a format mixed in one track at every unit period. This encoded output SAB is recorded in a recording medium 1. In a reproducing device, the reproducing signal SAB is decoded to the DATA DA, DB of original two channels. As for the decoded data DA, DB, the data DA, DB of two channels in two continuous unit periods convert them to original digital audio data L(i), R(i) of two channels, in the same unit period.
