Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To place a plurality of light reception devices/light emission devices relatively remotely from the light emission devices/light reception devices which are provided at a rotary part for detecting the rotary angle of the rotary part which rotates within a certain space without any contact. CONSTITUTION:For example, a light emission device LE which is pointed from the center of a rotary part to a radiation direction is provided at the rotary part and then a plurality of light reception devices P1, P, and P2 which are pointed to the rotary center direction of the rotary part are provided on a circular arc at the fixed part with nearly an equal spacing. Then, the rotary angle of the rotary part is detected from the positions of at least two light reception devices with a high output signal level out of a plurality of light reception devices and the output signal level.
