TRANSVERSE MOVEMENT SUPPRESSING DEVICE FOR STEEL SHEET PILE FOR UNDERGROUND CONTINUOUS WALL

PURPOSE:To prevent steel sheet piles from relative movement transversely when adjoining ones are joined together through a female and a male joint member by furnishing a movement suppressing member at the bottom or in the middle of each sheet pile. CONSTITUTION:Steel sheet piles 1, 2 are formed where a female joint member 3 and a retaining member 20 consisting of a slit-equipped steel pipe are welded fast at the two ends of the flange of an H-steel. To one sheet pile 1, a number of male joint members 4 to be inserted in the female joint member 3 of the other sheet pile 2 are welded fast at a certain spacing in the vertical arrangement. A movement suppressing member 6 having a detention part 5 for suppressing movement to be inserted in the corresponding female joint member 3 is welded fast to the bottom or the middle of the sheet pile 1. Thereby relative transverse movement of the sheet piles can be suppressed, and the placing can be done with an enhanced preciseness and without hindrance.
