Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce frictional force and suction force between a head and a magnetic disc, and to improve CSS-resistant characteristics and head-stick resistance by properly forming a projection to the surface of a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disc is manufactured by successively forming a foundation film, a magnetic film and a protective film on a substrate, and said substrate is composed of a glass substrate, to a surface of which a fine projection is formed. Said projection is shaped in projection height of 50-1000Angstrom , in projection width of 0.01-1mum and in projection density within a range of 10-1000/100mum , and the ratio RP/Rmax of the center-line crest height (RP) of surface roughness to maximum height (Rmax) is set in 60% or more.
