MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To increase recording density by superposing and joining a plurality of magnetic sensing elements while preventing the superposition of mutual magnetic sensing elements on a straight line orthogonal to the surface of a substrate. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic head 12, a plurality of substrates 8 with a plurality of magnetic sensing elements 2 disposed at regular intervalues and consisting of altic (Al2O3-TiC) or Ni-Zn ferrite are superposed so that mutual magnetic sensing elements 2 are not stacked on a straight line orthogonal to the surfaces of the substrates 8. That is, the pitches P1 of the magnetic sensing elements 2 mounted on the upper and lower substrates 8 are made larger than the width T of the magnetic sensing elements 2, pitches P2 on the same substrate 8 are set in a plurality of times of P1, and the value of a multiple is determined toy the number or the substrates 8 superposed. A spacer 5 is loaded on the uppermost section of the substrates 8 superposed, and each substrate 8 and the spacer 5 are bonded with epoxy adhesives and worked. Accordingly, the number of tracks of a magnetic tape can be increased without augmenting the magnetic sensing elements on the same substrate, thus elevating recording density.
