PURPOSE:To mount a tip surely and firmly by forming at least either the tip seating face of a throw away tool or the tip pressing face positioned on the opposite side of the former into an inclined face gradually separated from the other face toward the inserting direction of a wedge member. CONSTITUTION:A throw away face milling cutter is formed so that a plurality of chip pockets 12 are formed on the circumference of a disc-like tool main body 11 at regular intervals in the circumferential direction, and a tip fitting seat 13 is formed on the rear side of tool rotating direction. A recessed part 14 to recess toward the inside in the radial direction is formed in rear of the tip fitting seat 13, and a tip 15 mounted on the tip fitting seat 13 is fixed by tightening a wedge member 17 inserted into the recessed part 14.
