PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic resonance image homogeneous from a head neck section to a thoracic spine and having a high S-N ratio and improve the fitting property and comfortability by extending the coil of a simple loop out of the region surrounded by the coil of 8-shaped loops, and forming a loop with multiple turns at the extended portion. CONSTITUTION:A coil 11 is the coil of a simple loop and is formed into a plane shape, a coil 12 is the coil of 8-shaped loops, and both loops are erected nearly perpendicularly to the coil 11. The erected portions of the coil 12 of the 8-shaped loops are located at both ends of the coil 11. The coil 11 is extended in one direction out of the region surrounded by the coil 12 of the 8-shaped loops, and a loop with double turns is formed at an off region. A high-sensitivity region 53 can be formed at a portion off a region 52 in addition to the high-sensitivity region 52 having a quadrature characteristic, and the region having sufficient sensitivity can be expanded to the thoracic spine portion in addition to the head neck section of a subject 51.
