Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide a seedling transplanter capable of effectively suppressing the lack of seedling and the variation of the number of seedlings in the transplantation of seedlings having high stiffness and liable to spread, e.g. rush seedling, free from the troubles of the generation of seedling damage in the planting work of rice seedlings and enabling the selection of the working states such as the state of suppressed engine load at a low driving torque to suppress the noise generation and the state of high-speed planting work by setting the working speed at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:The objective seedling transplanter is provided with a seedling holding tool 18 freely changeable synchronous with the motion of a planting claw 21 between an outwardly retreated posture and a working posture to act on a planting target seedling prior to the seedling-taking motion of the planting claw 21, push out the seedling toward a seedling take-out port 16 and keep the seedling in the state. The seedling holding tool 18 is driven by the driving system of the planting claw 21 via an interlocking mechanism 27 to change the posture of the holding tool. The interlocking mechanism 27 is provided with a clutch mechanism to enable the release of the interlocked state.
