PURPOSE:To symmetrically correct the waveform of a reproduced signal, subjected to trailing phenomenon of recording pit, in an optical recorder/ reproducer for recording/reproducing signals to/from a disc in heat mode. CONSTITUTION:A delay line 18 outputs a lead signal from a first terminal and a lag signal from a third terminal relatively, in time, to a reproduced signal outputted from a second terminal while attenuating elements 20, 21 regulate the amplitude of outputs from the first and third terminals and a differential amplifier 19 subtracts the lead signal and lag signal, subjected to amplitude regulation, from the reproduced signal to produce a signal 103 subjected to waveform equalization. A variable gain amplifier 14 varies the gain with a control voltage corresponding to a track address signal 106 generated from a control voltage generating circuit 22 thus controlling the amplitude of waveform equalized output signal to be constant irrespective of the disc diameter.
