PURPOSE:To enable coating with high stability by providing a temp. control mechanism for the coating liquid and/or coating device. CONSTITUTION:The coating liquid L is extruded from a slit 12 by a coating head 10 to the outer peripheral surface of a a body to be coated, for example, a hollow drum 1, having a cylindrical shape on the outer periphery so as to enclose the hollow drum in the process of moving the hollow drum 1 continuously upward in its longitudinal direction. The coating liquid L flows down along a liquid sliding surface 15 and the outside surface of the hollow drum 1 is coated with the liquid at the thickness corresponding to the clearance between a lip-shaped part 16 and the outside surface of the hollow drum 1. The temp. of the coating liquid L is controlled by providing a passage penetrating the inside of the coating head 10 and passing hot water in the passage. As a result, the abnormal fluctuation in the film thickness of the coating and uneven coating are decreased and the coating stability is improved.
