PURPOSE:To obtain a laser ranging device for obtaining distance to a target from the time it takes after laser pulse is discharging toward the target until it returns from the target where influence to ranging accuracy according to distance to the target or the reflectivity or the scattering area of the target. CONSTITUTION:A first counter 16 and a second counter 17 receive a count start signal from a second threshold processor 12 and then initiates counting of clock from a clock generator 11. Each stops counting of the first counter 16 at the rising time of output pulse of a first threshold processor 9 and stops counting of the second counter 17 at the falling time. An arithmetic unit 18 obtains the distance to the target using a count N1 of the first counter 16 and a count N2 of the second counter 17.
