PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce assembling work time and ensure a specified quality by installing a guide plate to an erector frame for a shield type tunnel drilling machine in such a fashion that it may move forward and backward. CONSTITUTION:A holding jack 6 is extended; a holding jack 7 is provided below an erector frame 8 and positioned at a pin hole of the holding jack 7 and a lifting lug of a segment piece so as to insert a pin 10. Then, the holding jack 6 is contracted and the segment piece 3 is lifted up until it comes into contact with the bottom of the erector frame 8. In the case when rotary deviation is produced on the way to this lifting work, two guide plates 12 and a bolt box steel plate 3a may interface with the lifting work. Since the guide plates 12 are circular-shaped, however, the segment piece 3 will correct the rotary deviation along the shape of the guide plates 12. Idealistic posture will be attained until the holding work is completed. This construction makes it possible to maintain this posture until the segment piece 3 is assembled.
