PURPOSE:To improve strength and durability by decreasing stress acting on a base metal around the circumference of chip pockets of a tipped cutting tool. CONSTITUTION:A cut limit part 6, a tip 3, and a tip 4 are so provided as to sandwich the front and rear of a chip pocket 5 on a base metal 2 which has chip pockets around its circumference. The tip 3 and the tip 4 have tip parts with different cut depth respectively and are soldered to the base metal 2 in such state of pointing the tip longitudinal direction in the same direction as the operating direction of a cutting tool. Thus the depth of the chip pockets are made shallow, the circumference shape of the chip pockets 5 are made into a smooth circular shape with large radius, and the rake and clearance angle of the tips 3 are set within an appropriate range so that stress concentration of the base metal 2 is reduced and the stress is decreased, providing improvement in strength and durability.
