PURPOSE:To provide the filter for capturing and separating fine dust particles from a gaseous or liquid medium. CONSTITUTION:This plastic filter is constituted by depositing the fine particles formed by mixing one or >=2 kinds of polytetrafluoroethylene, tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer and polyvinylidene fluoride in the pores on the front surface side of a porous base body obtd. by sintering and molding a compsn. mixture composed of fine powders of 95 to 85wt.% ultra-high-molecular weight polyethylene(PE) and 5 to 15wt.% middle-molecular- weight PE. Then, the porosity increases while the mechanical strength of the porous base body equiv. to or higher than the mechanical strength of the conventional filters is maintained. Since the pressure drop as the filter decreases, this filter is helpful for the miniaturization of a blower and pump device for air suction and discharge and the reduction of the costs thereof.
