RECORDING CONDITION SETTING DEVICE FOR RECORDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To shorten a detecting time by detecting, setting the optimum test condition and narrowing the range of recording power to be the optimum recording condition in an optical disk recording, reproducing and erasing information by applying a radiant light beam. CONSTITUTION:First of all, by a condition detecting means 1, the condition of a main cause capable of detecting before performing a recording test in the main causes changing the optimum recording condition of the temperature, etc., of an optical disk 6 is detected. Then, by the optimum condition setting means 2, the range of the recording power at the time of testing and recording as the optimum test condition is decided based on the main cause detected with means 1, an optical pickup 5 is controlled so that a test recording signal generated to a test signal generating circuit 4 by using a test recording/ reproducing control means 3 is recorded to a test recording track area 7 on the optical disk 6. Thereafter, the pickup 5 is controlled by using the test recording signal recorded to the area 7, the signal indicating the quality of the reproducing signal is outputted from a test signal detecting circuit 8, the optimum recording power value is imparted to the means 2 from an optimum condition detecting means 9 and recording and reproducing are tried again.
