Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording medium with good visibility of a recording pattern by laminating successively a heat-sensitive recording layer consisting of a thin metal film with a mean roughness on the central line of 0.4mum or less and a protective layer wherein a resin is a constitutional ingredient on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive recording layer consisting of a metal film and having a mean roughness (Ra) on the central line of both main surfaces of 0.4mum or less is formed by applying a vacuum deposition method and a sputtering method of a metal such as Sm, Te, In, Al, Br, Pb and Zn and an alloy thereof on a substrate such as a plastic film, a metal plate and a paper. A protective layer 6 is formed by coating this heat-sensitive recording layer 5 with a coating contg. a resin such as polyester resin, epoxy resin and pheoxy resin and drying it. In addition, it is possible to place a magnetic layer 3 consisting of a magnetic material such as Ba ferrite, Sr ferrite and gammaFe2O3 and an anchor layer constituting a resin between the substrate 2 and the heat- sensitive recording layer 5. The obtd. heat-sensitive recording medium 1 is suitable for a medium for heat-sensitive recording of a visible pattern such as letter informations and picture informations.
